Over the past two weeks, I’ve noticing a trend in the news: homeowners getting taken advantage of by scam artists.
For instance, in Pocoima, California, a man named Jose Hernandez was approached by a man outside his church. The man said he could help the Hernandez family modify their loan and stop their foreclosure for $300. According to the LA Times, these scam artists collected over $330,000 from homeowners like the Hernandez’s.
The Default Service News and WFAA TV News in Dallas, someone in the Dallas-area town of Rockwall, Texas is impersonating the local constable trying to tell people they have to leave their homes because they are going to be foreclosed upon.
What is the world coming to? It seems the only thing limiting scam artists is their imagination.
The bottom line is…if it seems to be too good to be true…it is. We have more articles on how to avoid foreclosure scams…please check them out.
